Creating a Good Will
Taking the time to set up a Will can seem like a daunting task – something that many of us would like to put off for as long as we can. But when your affairs are in order, you are freed from any worries about whether your estate will be distributed according to your wishes. A Will provides you with the assurance that you have made provisions for family members as well as any organizations you cared about during your life.

With a bequest or other end-of-life gift to Heifer Foundation, you can create a living legacy that will help needy families and communities around the globe become healthy, strong and self-sufficient.
If you support the mission of ending hunger and poverty and caring for the Earth, then a bequest will give you peace of mind knowing that your support will continue for many years after your lifetime. The funds from a bequest or other end-of-life gift are invested in an Endowment and each year a percentage of the endowment is made available to areas where it is most needed.
With a bequest or other end-of-life at death, you can:
- Remain in control of the funds during your lifetime. A bequest does not become irrevocable until death; this means that you can change the bequest at any time during your lifetime.
- Reduce estate taxes. Your estate will receive an estate tax deduction for a portion of the gift made by the estate to charity.
