We all like people of good will. That's because they are positive, generous and enjoyable to be around. They tend to be cheerful and optimistic. People of good will make life more enjoyable for others.

The term "good will" also applies to estate planning. Individuals express good will by making a good will.

By creating good wills, we create good will among those we honor through our wills. They will remember us for our foresight, generosity and thoughtfulness. An ineffective, out-of-date will is, of course, a bad will. And such a will can create bad will among others, especially family members. It's far better to take the time to make sure a good will is in place.

In addition to providing for family and friends, a bequest through your will helps charitable organizations continue work of importance to you. With a bequest to Heifer International Foundation, you create a living legacy that supports the work of Heifer Project International to help needy families lift themselves out of hunger and poverty, and become self-reliant.

Bequests may be designated for "Heifer International Foundation, an Arkansas non-profit corporation, headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas." Heifer International Foundation was established for the purpose of receiving bequests and developing an endowment to support the work of Heifer Project International.

With your bequest, unless you request otherwise, we will establish a permanent endowment named in your honor at Heifer International Foundation. Annual income from the endowment is used to support the work of Heifer International in perpetuity.

You may, if you wish, designate how you want the income used, such as to support projects in a particular part of the world; for projects using a particular species of animal; for gender equality programs; or, for education or general purposes. You may also designate that your bequest be spent immediately, rather than being invested in the Endowment. Our objective is to honor your wishes and support Heifer's work as you wish us to do.
