EVELYN SIMS COOKE PHILLIPS COUNTY ENDOWMENT

Established in 2003 with land donated by Bryan Sims of Temple, Texas, in honor of his aunt, Evelyn Sims Cooke, who gave him the land, to benefit the work of Heifer International in the Mississippi Delta area.

Some of Heifer's most valuable work is done right in its own backyard. Much of this work includes shoring up community food systems, working with rural communities reeling from the loss of small-scale family farms and breaking the cycle of poverty by partnering with rural and urban at-risk youth and underserved ethnic minorities.The Delta is in dire need of Heifer's help.

I/We understand that this gift is given to an endowment at Heifer International Foundation and that the principal of the Fund shall remain intact and shall not be subject to invasion or distribution. I understand that 5.5% of the attributed earnings will be made available to Heifer International annually for its intended use.

I/We understand that if the Board of Trustees of Heifer International Foundation shall at any time determine that the uses of the Endowment are no longer appropriate and in accord with my/our desires and the objectives and principles of Heifer International Foundation, then Heifer International Foundation may, in the exercise of discretion, direct the application of the same in whole or in part to meet other appropriate projects as close as possible to the original intent and within the general charitable purposes of Heifer International Foundation.
