GRANVILLE AND GERALDINE GINN GUATEMALA ENDOWMENT
Established in 2002 with a gift from Randall L. and Janet K. Ginn of Benton, Arkansas. Janet Ginn is president of Heifer Foundation.
While Guatemala is the largest and most populous of the Central American countries, its GDP per capita is roughly only one-half that of Brazil, Argentina and Chile. A peace accord signed in 1996 ended 36 years of civil war but citizens are still suffering the consequences. Seventy-five percent of the population lives below the poverty line, estimates the World Factbook.
Heifer International is working in Guatemala to increase family income and ensure nutritional needs through small livestock projects and integrated crop and animal production systems. For example, organic coffee growers are improving their yields having learned how to use chicken manure as organic fertilizer.
Join the Ginns and bring hope to the people of Guatemala; give today.
