ELEANOR M. AND ROBERT E. CUNNINGHAM HOPE ENDOWMENT FOR HAITI

Established in 2003 with a gift from Robert and Eleanor Cunningham of Waverly, Ohio, in honor of their 55 ½ year wedding anniversary, to benefit the work of Heifer International in Haiti.

Plagued by political violence, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere (World Factbook). Heifer International has projects in Haiti teaching agro-ecology and animal husbandry, with an emphasis on goats. It is also working with farmers' cooperatives, offering marketing and other small business training.

I/We understand that this gift is given to an endowment at Heifer International Foundation and that the principal of the Fund shall remain intact and shall not be subject to invasion or distribution. I understand that 5.5% of the attributed earnings will be made available to Heifer International annually for its intended use.

I/We understand that if the Board of Trustees of Heifer International Foundation shall at any time determine that the uses of the Endowment are no longer appropriate and in accord with my/our desires and the objectives and principles of Heifer International Foundation, then Heifer International Foundation may, in the exercise of discretion, direct the application of the same in whole or in part to meet other appropriate projects as close as possible to the original intent and within the general charitable purposes of Heifer International Foundation.
