PEACE ENDOWMENT FOR CAUCASUS REGION

Established in 2003 with funds raised by the Armenia office staff and matched by Heifer Foundation and designated for peace projects in the Caucasus Region.

The Caucasus Region derives its name from the Caucasus Mountains that separate it from Russia to the north. The Caucasus Region, focused on by the Central/Eastern Europe Program of Heifer, is composed of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia and is based in Yerevan, Armenia. The countries of the Caucasus Region have been in conflict for centuries. The components of the current project--placement of animals, establishment of 4H Clubs, and training in health, animal health and leadership--will increase income, nutrition and leadership skills for the participants. Exchanging pass-ons, and sharing instructors and "best practices" between countries, will foster a spirit of understanding and peace.

I/We understand that this gift is given to an endowment at Heifer International Foundation and that the principal of the Fund shall remain intact and shall not be subject to invasion or distribution. I understand that 5.5% of the attributed earnings will be made available to Heifer International annually for its intended use.

I/We understand that if the Board of Trustees of Heifer International Foundation shall at any time determine that the uses of the Endowment are no longer appropriate and in accord with my/our desires and the objectives and principles of Heifer International Foundation, then Heifer International Foundation may, in the exercise of discretion, direct the application of the same in whole or in part to meet other appropriate projects as close as possible to the original intent and within the general charitable purposes of Heifer International Foundation.
