DISASTER RECOVERY ENDOWMENT
Established in 1999 to support the ongoing work of Heifer International projects that are directly affected by disaster.
Every year, income from this endowment will be made available to Heifer International to help families and communities rebuild what has been destroyed by war or natural disasters such as flooding or earthquakes.
In the past, funds have been used to support Heifer’s work in the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch in Honduras and in the refugee camps on the borders of war-torn Afghanistan. Today, the endowment is proving more necessary than ever. The funds will be
made available to assist those rebuilding after the December 2004 tsunami, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita right here at home, the earthquake in India and Pakistan, and the flooding and mudslides in Central America.
Because we do not know when, where or how destructive a disaster will be, it is hard to plan, but we want to be prepared. Please join us in providing hope in the face of devastation by making a gift today.
