MEKONG ENDOWMENT

Established in 2003 with funds raised by the Mekong office staff and matched by Heifer Foundation.

Diverse groups living in the remote areas of the Mekong Region need more stable communities; this can be accomplished, in part, through the use of alternative farming systems that include integrating sustainable food production with the protection of natural resources, thus preventing urban migration and sustaining the cultural heritage of the population.

I/We understand that this gift is given to an endowment at Heifer International Foundation and that the principal of the Fund shall remain intact and shall not be subject to invasion or distribution. I understand that 5.5% of the attributed earnings will be made available to Heifer International annually for its intended use.

I/We understand that if the Board of Trustees of Heifer International Foundation shall at any time determine that the uses of the Endowment are no longer appropriate and in accord with my/our desires and the objectives and principles of Heifer International Foundation, then Heifer International Foundation may, in the exercise of discretion, direct the application of the same in whole or in part to meet other appropriate projects as close as possible to the original intent and within the general charitable purposes of Heifer International Foundation.
