INDONESIA COUNTRY ENDOWMENT

Established in 2001 with a gift from Tina Mattox of Ventura, California.

Indonesia, straddling the equator, is the world's largest archipelagic state, and lies between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. One of its challenges is the unequal distribution of resources. (There are 6,000 inhabited islands!) Heifer is working here to promote a productive, sustainable mixed-crop agriculture, as well as providing training for animal health volunteers. There are dairy, fish and water buffalo programs and significant partnering with small indigenous non-governmental organizations.

I/We understand that this gift is given to an endowment at Heifer International Foundation and that the principal of the Fund shall remain intact and shall not be subject to invasion or distribution. I understand that 5.5% of the attributed earnings will be made available to Heifer International annually for its intended use.

I/We understand that if the Board of Trustees of Heifer International Foundation shall at any time determine that the uses of the Endowment are no longer appropriate and in accord with my/our desires and the objectives and principles of Heifer International Foundation, then Heifer International Foundation may, in the exercise of discretion, direct the application of the same in whole or in part to meet other appropriate projects as close as possible to the original intent and within the general charitable purposes of Heifer International Foundation.
