FISHER FAMILY AND FRIENDS ENDOWMENT FOR CAMBODIA
Established in 2003 with a gift from Michelle and Alan Fisher of Bronxville, New York. The endowment continues to grow as gifts, both by and for the Fishers, are added.
1999 was the first full year of peace for this country in 30 years. One can only imagine the daunting challenge and long-term development ahead after decades of war, not to mention violent rainstorms and floods that washed away thousands of farms and dreams for the futures. These waves of destruction are turning into waves of transformation thanks, in part, to Heifer International's gifts of ducks, dairy cows, pigs, rabbits and goats. Heifer is working in Cambodia to increase self-sufficiency in agricultural production through training and the distribution of vaccines to improve the health of the draft animals. These projects emphasize animal well-being and agro-ecology practices.
