HIV/AIDS ENDOWMENT
Established in 2003 by Kathryn Carovano of Anchorage, Alaska.
Realizing the devastating effects of AIDS on the people of Sub-Saharan Africa and on Heifer's work in the region, Heifer International recently adopted an AIDS initiative in an effort to stop this pandemic. Heifer's work will focus on two main areas of work: preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS through education, and improved nutrition for those who are living with HIV/AIDS. By providing information about safe-sex practices, as well as educating mothers on the dangers of passing on the disease to their children through breast milk, Heifer is joining individuals and organizations throughout the continent to address the tragedy.
When you think of the size of the AIDS epidemic in Africa, imagine the difficulty in stopping it by educating one person at a time in remote villages that are only reached on foot.
With a gift to the HIV/AIDS Endowment, you can make a difference in the struggle to end one of the most deadly and vicious diseases to plague the modern world; please give today.
