BEDMINSTER FRIENDS OF AFRICA UGANDA ENDOWMENT

Established in 2003 with a gift from The Bedminster Fund, Inc. of New York, New York.

In Uganda, Heifer is providing livestock including dairy cattle, goats, poultry, pigs and bees. The focus of the programs is improving nutrition and income status for small-scale farmers, particularly women, as the male population has been so significantly diminished due to AIDS. Agriculture is the most important sector of the economy and slow, but steady growth has occurred in recent years.

I/We understand that this gift is given to an endowment at Heifer International Foundation and that the principal of the Fund shall remain intact and shall not be subject to invasion or distribution. I understand that 5.5% of the attributed earnings will be made available to Heifer International annually for its intended use.

I/We understand that if the Board of Trustees of Heifer International Foundation shall at any time determine that the uses of the Endowment are no longer appropriate and in accord with my/our desires and the objectives and principles of Heifer International Foundation, then Heifer International Foundation may, in the exercise of discretion, direct the application of the same in whole or in part to meet other appropriate projects as close as possible to the original intent and within the general charitable purposes of Heifer International Foundation.
