Nonprofit Initiative Launches Online Gift E-Cards In Time For Holiday Season
Hope Equity offers gift giving that matters

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 29, 2008) - Hope Equity, the unique online giving initiative from Heifer Foundation, has a new online E-Card gift that allows you to support various causes and country programs dedicated to ending hunger and poverty while also taking care of your gift giving needs.
E-Card charitable gifts can be made in honor of a friend or loved one for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and other special occasions, with each card featuring a different design incorporating the Hope Equity logo leaves. Donors can choose from more than 400 Interests on Hope Equity (www.hopeequity.org/holiday) that provide long-term, sustainable support for programs and nonprofits across the world.
The wide array of countries, initiatives and causes available make the E-Card an ideal gift for those on your list that make shopping so difficult, said Greg Spradlin, vice president of Heifer Foundation.
“Think of Hope Equity’s E-Cards as your one stop shop for holiday gift giving,” Spradlin said. “And it’s giving that matters, especially during today’s tough economic times - that’s important to people right now. You may have friends, cousins or aunts and uncles that have spent time in Uganda, Honduras or China. Spradlin points out that there are a variety of programs developing gender equity training, providing AIDS/HIV education, and protecting the environment that can be supported sustainably through Hope Equity with an E-Card gift. Once the gift E-Card has been e-mailed to the recipient, they can then log on to their Micro-Endowment account to monitor the charitable gift given in their name, as well as invite others to donate, choose other Interests to support, and utilize widgets for Web pages. With Hope Equity’s Micro-Endowment account, each charitable gift is invested and will remain untouched. A percentage of the interest is made available every year to the countries, causes and organizations. One hundred percent of each gift goes directly to the areas the donors designate.
