Velma and Rich Perry of Keizer, Oregon, still fondly recall the year their daughter took a trip that continues to impact their lives today. The Perrys were delighted about her experience at Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas, with the youth group from their home church.

On a cross-country vacation years later, the Perrys took their three children to visit the Ranch first-hand. Rich and Velma were so impressed by the animal husbandry and training they witnessed as they were immersed in the cultures of Heifer’s project participants, they decided to set up a charitable remainder trust through Heifer Foundation.

The Perrys expressed their thanks for the kindness and helpfulness of the Heifer staff in navigating the steps of establishing their estate plan. Rich added they appreciate the fact that Heifer administers the other charities their estate is planning to support. For the Perrys, it was a “weight lifted off of us and our family as well.”

Though it’s been years since their children were young, the Perrys have wonderful memories of visiting Heifer Ranch, which remain with them today.
