Heifer Foundation Names New President and CEO

(Little Rock, AR) - The Heifer Foundation Board of Trustees has named Domingo Barrios as the new president and chief executive officer of the nonprofit organization dedicated to helping end hunger and poverty through planned charitable giving.

“The Board of Trustees and the staff of Heifer Foundation are very excited about having Domingo Barrios as our new president and CEO,” said Carol Brown, Chair of Heifer Foundation Board of Trustees. “Through a deliberate, careful process the Board has selected a talented, dynamic individual with a diverse background in the nonprofit sector. His leadership skills, coupled with a passion and commitment for helping others, make him an ideal fit to lead Heifer Foundation.”

Pepperdine University Official Elected To Heifer Foundation Board Of Trustees

(Little Rock, AR) - Stephanie Buckley was recently elected to a 3-year term on the Board of Trustees for Heifer Foundation, a non-profit dedicated ending hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth.

“I was very honored when I was asked to serve on the board because the Heifer Foundation is such a great organization,” Buckley said.

Buckley, of Simi Valley, California, will begin her term in September of 2009. Established in 1990, Heifer Foundation was created to manage the endowment for Heifer International and offers a variety of planned charitable giving instruments that provide individuals the ability to help themselves, their loved ones, and a world in great need.

Heifer Foundation Announces Management Change

May 21, 2009

(Little Rock, AR) - Ardyth Neill Heifer Foundation today announced that Chief Financial Officer Ardyth Neill has been appointed acting President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing Janet K. Ginn.

Mrs. Ginn and the Heifer Foundation Board of Trustees mutually agreed Mrs. Ginn should step down amid allegations of copyright infringement and plagiarism. This decision follows a thorough investigation conducted by the Board and outside legal counsel.

“As a leading global philanthropic organization, Heifer Foundation must conduct itself with the utmost integrity,” said Heifer Foundation Board Chairman Ronald H. McLean. “Whether true or not, we cannot allow allegations of improper conduct to distract from the life-changing work of the Heifer organization, our people and our generous donors.

(Little Rock, Ark.) After 20 years of being a guiding force in Heifer’s mission of ending hunger and poverty, Miller Davis, the Chair of Heifer Foundation’s Board of Trustees, has been awarded the 2008 Dan West Fellow Award.

Davis, whose board term ends this year, leaves behind a legacy of unparalleled service to the boards of both Heifer Foundation and Heifer International, including chairing both boards during times of tremendous growth.

Throughout his life and as Heifer International’s founder, Dan West maintained a deep commitment to helping the poor, hungry and those in the margin of the world. His vision guides the Heifer organization and speaks to the simplest and most basic principle of charity – helping people to help themselves. DR. Barrie O'Bannon Wins Hiefer Foundation's

2007 Dan West Fellow Award

(Little Rock, Ark.) – Dr. Barrie O’Bannon, the man who helped secure the first Heifer International headquarters in Little Rock as well as the Heifer Ranch in Perryville, was named the 2007 Dan West Fellow Award winner.

O’Bannon, who now lives in Russellville, was presented the award at Heifer Foundation’s Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, March 19.

Throughout his life and as Heifer International’s founder, Dan West maintained a deep commitment to helping the poor, hungry and those in the margin of the world. Couple Auctions Ring To Support Heifer’s Efforts Ending Hunger And Poverty

December 10, 2007

(Little Rock, Ark.)  Erik and Carla Schneider recently auctioned off their wedding ring to further their deep commitment to ending hunger and poverty, with the hope that it would inspire others to give in some way.

The proceeds from the online EBay auction were donated through Hope Equity, a new online giving initiative from the nonprofit Heifer Foundation. What made this auction so unique was that the winning bidder got to choose which country, cause or initiative their money supports through Hope Equity.

Keith and Nola Russell, a widow and widower from Everett, Washington who had once again found happiness in life, were the winning bidders. The Russell’s history with Heifer International goes back to the nascent days of the organization when they first gave to Heifer in their Sunday school classes. Heifer International was founded more than 60 years ago on the simple belief that ending hunger begins with giving people the means to feed themselves...
