REVIEWS

"She has masterfully answered questions of a technical nature and simultaneously given us insights into a donor's heart. She teaches us first and foremost that we can change the world."

-Ben Robinson, Wealth Management Consultant, Smith Barney

"Circle of Giving explains, in a warm and pleasant way, how anyone can make a difference. I was so moved by the donors’ stories. So much of this type of literature is technical; all the technicians understand it but the donor doesn’t. Circle of Giving is special because it helps the reader understand the way they can make a difference. It shows that the President and CEO of Heifer Foundation feels deeply for her donors and our world. Very personal. Very human. Overall, it is a homerun!”

- George McLeod, CFP, retired financial advisor

“As a former college professor, I have worked with legions of erudite people; people gifted with superior intellect and keepers of much knowledge. One of the things I learned over the years is that no one, even the most brilliant minds among us, can be an expert in everything. That is why very bright doctors don't do their own taxes, and very adept accountants don't draft their own legal documents. And that is why Circle of Giving is an important book. It's planned charitable giving--in other words, financial planning with a heart--for those of us who are smart in other ways.

Actually, Mrs. Ginn's book is better than smart--it is wise. She speaks (and indeed it is written in such a way that you can hear her talking) with acuity on her subject, and then goes on better by sharing wisdom gleaned from the lives of some very fine folks. In Circle of Giving, Mrs. Ginn is the best kind of teacher; she brings the day's lesson home with personal, real-life examples. She makes you care about the concepts because you care about the people in her stories. She gives us the details of some rather dry subjects—trusts and annuities, for example—by sharing their practical application in the lives of people that look and sound just like you and me. So many of her stories include a delicious home-cooked meal that the book could have been titled, "And For Dessert: Planned Charitable Giving." (But the chosen title is most appropriate.)

You don't have to be rich to help change the world through planned charitable gifts. You only need a heart for helping others and a copy of Circle of Giving.”

- Dr. Conrad K. Kinard

It is very good reading and should challenge hundreds of others....

If our work can be defined by “inspiring people” you certainly represents this in a high standard.  Your book is an enjoyable collection of inspiring, powerful examples and clear paths to help others.  Thanks for putting it together, sharing it with us and leading our way.

Congratulations on your book, "Circle of Giving".  Thank you for sending a copy to me.  I have to say I did get a bit misty-eyed reading parts of it.  It just makes me feel that much better that Roy has left a legacy of generosity and hope, as all of Heifer's donors do.
Hope you are well.  Looks like you are on your way for a busy season of seminars.  Be safe.  And my God travel close by.

   Love,
Suzanne

A Good Will

I have a will. A few months ago I couldn't say that. It took the death of a close friend to wake me up. Let me tell you about my will.
