Assistant to the Vice President of Charitable Gift Planning
Opening Date: April 18, 2008
Closing Date: May 9, 2008

Position: Assistant to the Vice President of Charitable Gift Planning
Location: Heifer Foundation, Little Rock, Arkansas
Reports To: Vice President of Charitable Gift Planning
Salary Range: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour, DOE

Function: To assist the Vice President of Charitable Gift Planning.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide administrative support to Vice President of Charitable Gift Planning
  2. Respond to general inquiries related to Heifer International Foundation.
  3. Maintain state charitable solicitation files.
  4. Maintain annuity registration files.
  5. Assist in the maintenance of department procedures
  6. Assist VP with the bequest program.
  7. Assist Vice President in donor follow-up program.
  8. Provide back-up relief for front desk receptionist.
  9. May perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: 

Must be a high school graduate; Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in business administration or related field preferred; plus two (2) years experience in office administration. Job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively with a wide range of people.
  2. Excellent organizational skills including strong attention to detail.
  3. Knowledge of computers as a tool for word processing, communications, and organizing.  Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access required.
  4. Ability to proofread correspondence for correct punctuation and grammar, and produce documents in a well-designed, attractive format.
  5. Ability to use all standard office equipment, including copiers, printers, fax machines, etc.
  6. Ability to foster and maintain a spirit of unity, teamwork, and cooperation among all personnel.
  7. Sensitivity in working with multiple cultures, beliefs, and to gender equity.

Physical Demands:

Extensive computer use, including keyboard and mouse.

Work Environment:

Normal office environment; noise level low to moderate.
